Tell Us About Yourself!
"My name is Katie Deutsch & I was raised in Frisco, Texas. I recently graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor's degree in accounting and a master's degree in marketing! I currently work for an accounting firm in their specialized tax practice in New York City. I love to travel and see new places and in my free time I also love running, reading and spending time with my friends and family!"
Why is conservation important to you?
"The world has so many beautiful places to see and we should do all that we can to ensure that they are preserved, protected and accessible to all for many years to come! We can do our part by living sustainably in as many ways as possible which can be an incredibly attainable goal. For those that have access to the resources they need to live sustainably, I think they would be surprised at how simple it can be to start small and implement these practices in their daily lives."
What is your favorite tip to live a more sustainable life?
"Eating and shopping locally is such a small step but makes an impact in a multitude of ways! Not only are you purchasing food and items that didn't have to be made and transported across the country to be sold to you, but rather than supporting larger and already successful corporations, you are also supporting members of your own community and their families while you're at it."
Where do you think is one of the most beautiful places in Texas?
"Colorado Bend State Park in Bend, Texas!"
