Sourdough garden pizza

For Pizza Dough:

  • 1 cup of sourdough starter

  • 2  cups all purpose flour

  • ½ cup of water (might need a few tablespoons more)

  • 1 teaspoon of salt

  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder

  • Olive oil

  • Cornmeal

  • 1 jar of pizza sauce (NOTE: We used HEB Organic Pizza Sauce)

  • Vegetables of your choice (NOTE: we used bell peppers, onions, black olives, and tomatoes)

  • Mozzarella cheese shredded

  1. Combine the sourdough starter, flour, water, salt, and garlic powder.

  2. Kneed the dough for 2-3 minutes or place it in a mixer with a bread hook until combined

  3. Once combined, form the dough into a ball, and over with olive oil. Place it in a glass or metal bowl. Cover bowl with a towel and let it sit for 2-4 hours.

  4. Flour a flat surface and roll out the pizza dough into a circular shape. (NOTE: mine was definitely not perfect)

  5. Sprinkle some cornmeal on your pizza stone or cast iron skillet (NOTE: This helps prevent sticking)

  6. Add pizza sauces, cheese, and toppings

  7. Once oven is at 425F bake for 10-14 minutes

  8. Enjoy!
